When we asked around for a first-time surf instructor in the Hatteras area, Billy and Hannah were highly recommended. They went over and above providing our daughter (and we as parents) a fun, safe and confidence inspiring experience. They picked the right location for consistent size appropriate waves. Instruction was focused and clear. With a few adjustments (reasserting fundamentals) and lots of positive encouragement, our daughter was surfing and living a life goal. Billy and Hannah are true professionals and a Hatteras ambassadors. He suggested a few places for food, surf shops, and fun stops. My boys (10 and 12) and nephew (13) took several days of surf lessons with Billy and Hannah in Waves, NC this past summer. They had the time of their lives. Billy and Hannah are incredibly friendly, positive, and knowledgeable, and they’re just plain fun to hang out with on the beach or out in the water. The boys felt right at ease with Billy and Hannah and quickly gained confidence in the water thanks to their guidance, expertise, and encouragement. Billy and Hannah met each boy where they were and catered his coaching to their skill level. Not only did they teach the boys how to surf, but he spent time reviewing important safety information and teaching the boys how to read the ocean and surf safely. Looking forward to doing it again this summer!

Both our 12-year-old and 10-year-old daughters decided on a whim they wanted to try surfing during one of our beach trips over the summer. We made some calls to area surf shops and were soon put in touch with surf instructors, Billy and Hannah. Our girls absolutely loved their lesson and have been repeat sign-ups for his instruction each time we make the summer trip to the Outer Banks. Their team's experience with surfing and surfing instruction, their knowledge of locations along the shore to safely learn how to surf, and their ability to enable both of our daughters to stand up and ride waves by the end of their first lesson have created repeated customers out of us!
